You can pay to offset your carbon footprint, you know. Pay three dollars extra on a flight and they plant some trees or something. I do it all the time when I fly.

That's just to make people feel a bit better inside but really what difference does it make? Nowt. He's as bad as Bono. I remember a few years back when he hosted some kind of poverty summit somewhere, afterwards, he flew on his private jet to Italy, bought a Maserati and then drove it back to the UK.

Where'd you get that? I'm no google noob, but I can't seem to find one shred that would point towards that statement being true.

It was in the papers around 2006 about a year after Live 8. It's probably online somewhere but I remember reading it and it's been stored in my 'anti-Bono' mental vault since then. And come on, no-one can deny the level of luxury he lives in. Wasn't he almost made a billionaire through Facebook stocks about a month ago? And 6 years ago he co-bought a 40% stake in Forbes magazine worth around $160 million.

He's not short of cash. He goes on and on about everyone giving money to make poverty history when in reality he could probably make a bigger difference single handedly. Does he?
