Not that anybody's looking this thread really at the moment... but I couldn't let my excitement at this release pass without mention. Dodgy have always been in my top five bands, and those of us who love them have had to endure a painfully long wait since Free Peace Sweet. There was Real Estate, which was a brilliant album, but should never have been put out under the name Dodgy because it didn't feature Nigel Clarke.
Anyway - Stand Upright In A Cool Place, will be VERY hard to beat as the best album this year. It's beautiful, heartfelt, and deserves to be heralded as a classic modern folk pop gem much more than, for instance, Mumford or Fleet Foxes.
