^I second the Spain part...
I'm gutted that I missed the shows, and still can't watch any videos from last year's gigs without tears in my eyes

The last year just flew by. I took the DVDs with me to show the family over this holiday weekend about why I missed out on last year's party. I also have this amazing event for finding my BF, we just passed our one year - met him outside the Marble Arch tube station after the first night. A few hours spent wandering around Bayswater and out by the horse head statue which still perplexes me and we were hooked to one another. It was very worth the trip and expense from Los Angeles.
Wondering why since 1974

by the time Hyde Park came around, it became less about the concert and more about the celebration of the last few weeks. Every where I walked, I met people I knew. At the parks entrance, Simon and the crew from Coxons forum, a few steps into the park, a few more fellow forumers. And then the approach to Rainsongs flag which became a beacon to the regular gig goers. And despite the large capacity, more familiar faces inside the gig. And of course, sharing the weekend with special people made these two dates very memorable for many years to come.

Oh, the music was too quiet. That and the bottle throwing were the only criticisms.

Whoops, am a bit late.

I'm bothered! Because I was only able to go to Hyde Park. So for me Hyde Park means something, even if I nearly died the first day. It was great but not as great as smaller gigs of course, so less regrets and melacholy for me.

yep, you and Anthony. Was really weird that after a week in England I started meeting familiar people in Hyde Park. Loved IT!

I've just got to take Hyde Park for what it was. I bought my ticket for the 3rd within 15 minutes of the pre-sale. I felt honoured to be offered it as a long-standing fan. Of course, with hindsight they were always going to play more than one gig. Everybody does it. If I had had the money, time and better geographical location, I would have followed them as much as I could. But alas, their home town for the comeback of the century had to be good enough. There were songs I was praying for that I knew would never be on the setlist but again, I'm grateful for what I got. At least Death of a Party treated the fans that were first to buy tickets. I felt that strongly about Hyde Park that I decided not to go to T in the Park, although I hate missing their Scottish gigs. I simply didn't want to ruin the memories of London.

July 3rd for me consisted of:

-Visiting Marc Bolan's memorial in Hampstead
-Climbing Primrose Hill
-Couple of beers in Camden
-Blur gig

Doesn't get much better than that. I never seen any louts but (and this sounds really wanky, as it's what gigs are for) I had to move a couple of times because of the moron behind me singing every word!

Did anybody go to Lyon?
Nothing is wrong, she turns me on.

^ Sure, one of the Aussie dudes on here went (Mister_ Petermen). I considered it, but it was too late in the day and completely ridiculous to consider at the time. Beatfloh would have gone too I guess.

Ummm wasn't like most of the crowd singing every word? The second day there was a very out of tune woman next to us singing during Vampire Weekend but she got knocked on the head with a few too many bottles and left before Blur. I think had she stayed I would have had to switch to a less tone deaf bit of the crowd.

This thread makes me depressed...summer of 2009 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> summer of 2010 in so many ways (not just Blur)

^ so means, you're suffering from sleeping problems, changes in appetite, loosing interest in things you like for longer than 2 weeks?

if yes, hmm, no good, if not, stop using the term depression
