|
|
If this has already been posted well, you know the drill, shout at me, throw rocks at me, etc.
But anyway, this week's NME (Florence & The Machine cover - looking leggy there Florence) has a small interview with Graham. Normally would have bought and scanned but the Q was a mile long and my train was soon to arrive, so just quickly tapped this question and answer into me ipod touch:-
Q: Can you see the band gearing up again?
A: The Blur thing... everyone's gone back to their day jobs and Damon's really involved with Gorillaz stuff, so that's obviously taking up a lot of his time and energy. But I'm sort of open to suggestions as far as next year goes
Anyway maybe someone can get it and scan or maybe I will, but that's the only Blur bit. He also says he quite fancies playing a few electric solo shows sometime in the near future. _________________

I'd love to see a scan if you can! Isn't it ironic that now Graham is more keen to do more Blur than Damon is...what turnabout from 4-6 years ago... _________________ BLACK BOOK on sale at Amazon.com now!!!!

Maybe it is, but on the other hand it's good Damon's not going crazy and wants to finish one work before doing something else. Or maybe he's afraid it (Blur) wouldn't work well even if last summer was great. Maybe "let's make an album and release it in March" would be too quick.
We just have to wait. _________________

Well obviously Damon is knee-deep in the new Gorillaz album and is focusing on that. I just think it's interesting that it's Graham keeping the door open now, and not Damon...a complete 180 from a few years back... _________________ BLACK BOOK on sale at Amazon.com now!!!!

im going to be honest with you lot....
i kinda understand damon's approach to the whole "new blur album" thing.
i mean, let's face it... he was working on the gorillaz album before the whole blur thing started and it's only natural he'll finish what he started without jumping on a new blur record just because the blur gigs were great.
i think if there ever will be a new blur record it should come from a clear state of mind of the whole 4 members, from "we really up to this 'cos we want to create something good and special" and not go and make an album just because everyone expecting them to do so 'cos they had a good summer and they are all friends and they must do an album 'cos people want more now...
y'know what i mean...???
let them go back to theire own stuff and when the time will be right for them im sure they'll treat us with something fantastic ! _________________ I heart the streets. I like jump for joy.

^I understand with and agree with what you said completely...
And if that means no Blur, that's OK...I'd rather have no Blur than a shite album...(not that I think they'd ever give us a duff record, but you never know)... _________________ BLACK BOOK on sale at Amazon.com now!!!!

I know most people won't agree with this but I think all things considered they should have left it all (gigs, recording, everything) till they had time, could make a new record, then tour it, etc. But they all had their reasons for wanting to do it asap, Damon was the one holding out then rightly or wrongly he saw it as a way of getting cool with Graham again, as he's said (and it worked, they are now cool. mission accomplished.). _________________

^I can see your point, but still it worked out so perfectly that I"m glad it went on as it did. However, I absolutely am of the opinion they cannot/should not tour again unless they have some new material to present... _________________ BLACK BOOK on sale at Amazon.com now!!!!
