Graham on Out of Time

Postby AdvertBreak » Sat Sep 24, 2011 11:59 am

I've completely forgot. What did Graham do on Out of time? I can't remember the slightest (i didn't get to go to see Hyde Parks but i've seen performances from the 09 tour)

Peeled an orange. Picked at his fingernails a bit. Looked disgusted.

he said on some interviews that he gave it a few listenes at the time and at the time he didn't liked it very much.
but if you original question refered to the album version of out of time so graham didn't play anything on this track. he only played it live on the 09 reunion tour.

I was at the first Hyde Park gig and at the time I do admit it didn't sound too different but when you listen to the recording of the show you can hear a big difference, not only in terms of the added layer of guitar but in the actual feel of the song. The new version has more edge and has a denser sound and in my view is much enhanced from the Think Tank version (which is still enjoyable).

Then of course you have Damon's unique guitar technique on the solo...

I prefer it with Gra's part, yes it drew heavily from the existing melody, but so what? I think it was just a nice touch that he played on it and it came out at every show, it seemed like the final reconciliation, like he was acknowledging Blur's work in his absence, and showing that it was all ok :)
