Treatment at the MEN gig 26/6/09 and merchandise problems!!!

Postby sarahtnt83 » Mon Jun 29, 2009 8:51 pm

Hi all... Went to the gig in the MEN 26/6/09 and had a brilliant night... but there were a few things on the night that really annoyed me and are still really bugging me and are tainting my memor of the night!!! Just though i'd vent some steam!!!

Bum dreal part 1...
Before entering the standing area I elected not to purchase any merchandise for fear of losing it in the crowd (I was 5 rows from the front so you can imagine how rough it was). I asked at the shop if we could get some afterwards and they said "sure, not a problem". Upon leaving the gig we were all ushered out the fire exits and were told that the shops were closed and we were not alowed back in at all... I was told to go and buy the unofficial rubbish from the people outside! Surely this is a serious loss of revenue to Blur and the MEN Arena!!!

Bum deal part 2...
Upon entering the standing area we had out tickets taken off us... not just a piece teared off and the main part returned... the whole thing was taken!!! All I got in return was a generic non-blur wrist band as my momento of the night, what a bum deal! I did ask why this was at the time and got the response " you can get one back afterwards"! Utter rubbish!!! The liars!!!

Icing on the cake...
Is anybody else having alot of bother trying to find the the official 2009 tour merchandise anywhere... I can't get my hands on any anywhere... not even through the blur.co.uk website... what is going on?!? All I want is a few souveniers, a momento... the cost for me to see the gig was £95 for 2 tickets, £80 on a hotel and a £60 train fare plus spending money! The least I deserved was my ticket stubb back... I feel robbed and seriously let down!!!

I'd love to hear from anybody who has experienced the same problems as I had and i'd especially love to hear of anyone who knows where I can get some of the official merchandise!!!

The wristband thing really annoyed me. I have a huge corkboard on my wall with all events I have been to during my life time, and the blur stump/wristband was the one I really wanted to add.

They could have at least blur'd the wristband up.

There was a way to get a ticket stub by staying behind atthe end but I was in a rush to catch a train. It was a bit of a cock up.
