It'd be a cool mix CD to take the best songs off each album and call it "Happiness In Tanks." It'd be like the old Blur. Hm....

graham might be listening to the same music as always, but thats no indication of the music he makes. theres variation in his solo work - more than loads of groups such as chillies and their bland like, and considering the way most of his albums are made its even more of an achievement he did so well

Yeah, because albums like Freaky Styley, One Hot Minute and By The Way sound identical :?

i think if you consider the span of time over which the chillis have been releasing their albums to that of grahams it makes my point. also, with the chillis your talking about the whole of their work, grahams solo albums are or rather were just a side line. as i said, even more impressive considering the way coxons albums used to be made. i would have thought the chillis put alot more work into each of their albums... although you wouldnt know from listening to them.

anyway, i didnt think this was a chillis board?

By The Way covers more stylistic ground than Graham's entire solo catalogue. Admittedly there's the side project point, but you didn't really make that in the first place.

It's not, but it's not an anti-Chilis board, either.

i just have to disagree on the by the way point, i think its rather uninspired and would be at home in a lift, though i do know people who love it.

im not anti chillis, i have a couple of their albums - their popularity baffles me slightly, but theyre harmless... the point i was trying to make was that a little side comment about the chillis seemed to be hijacking the board somewhat. it wasnt a majour issue - just a little aside which seems to have got whipped up more than was needed
