I'm still a bit perplexed by it, I know Damon was talking about Tea Ladies earlier in the day but even so, it was still very random...would have made a bit more sense if it had been one of Harry's well-known characters that he had played but to the best of my knowledge it isn't...

Years actually, I remember he was on the front cover of Q in 2007 as part of a 21 people who changed music series and in the interview he mentioned tea ladies

EDIT: found the quote

"What happened to the tea ladies? What happened to them? We had a completely sustainable system through the world where a nice old lady would come and make you a cup of tea and then she would wash it up and use it again. And now, the amount of polystyrene...there's no pleasure in drinking out of plastic, and a nice china cup or mug, will last you a lifetime if you look after it. You only need one. You only need one car. You probably only need two pairs of shoes in your adult life. Unless you do an awful lot of walking..."

Jeez he has had tea ladies on the brain a long time hasn't he

He mentioned them in the G-U Q&A for Dr.Dee as well. As well as at the Brits speech... and at least one other time, with reference to EMI, in print (I seem to remember).
