You're a star! Thanks

crushes those (stupidly-spun, not even understanding what Damon actually said in the original interview) articles in the last few days saying Damon said he could do a Gorillaz album without Jamie (which he never said, he was just pointing out how he always does the Gorillaz music without thinking about the characters anyway)

It's lovely to see Damon is being interviewed left right and centre (even today's The Sun are at it), and of course these interviews are miles away from the now infamous Guardian one.
I really like the spirit, his "interview technique" is def getting better
Not turning things in money making exercices and keeping it fun and interesting seems to mean a lot to him: healthy attitude

You know, I've got a new theory about Damon.

When my friends thought it was time for me to propose to my then girlfriend (now wife), they made it very clear they expected it to happen on a certain holiday overseas on Christmas, which meant that in effect they completely ruled out that happening. I might have proposed then otherwise, but I hate acting to expectation and having people say 'see, we knew you were going to do that, aren't we clever?'.

I reckon Damon feels the same way. If everybody tells him its the right time to make a Blur record, that probably pushes it back at least half a year. He loves coming out of left field and shouting 'boo'.

And good on him.

Sounds like he was buzzing that day...makes for an easy interview.

yep, that's him: try to tell him what to do and he will do the exact opposite... So, from now on we'd better tell him: please Dames, do us all a favour and stop this Blur thing, we fans are ALL dead against a new album (and by the way who sells albums nowadays, the music industry is dead, blah blah blah), and for the love of god don't even try and tour, specifically not in -insert country of choice here - you are all getting a bit too old for that !
This better work, because we're running out of
There is a small glitter of hope, at least they are trying, just pray that they'll get the mojo back and most importantly that they are happy with the results of their "studio sessions" also known as "tea +biscuits"...

Indeed, who is this Alex Cox?!!! makes me wonder what 'half Graham, half Alex' might be like!

Great interview with Damon. Thanks so much for uploading it.
